Swiss made replica Panerai prop watch from Succession sells for $4,500
Top end timekeepers have been weaved into the plot, including in the very first episode when Tom Wambsgans, son-in-law of patriarch Logan Roy is gifted a Patek Philippe.
In that same 2018 episode, Wambsgans is seen wearing a perfect fake Panerai Luminor, and it is this copy watch, which was created as a replica prop watch, that appeared at auction over the weekend with USA-based Heritage Auctions.
According to notes accompanying the lot with Heritage Auctions, the best 1:1 replica Panerai UK appears to function as expected but the company cannot vouch for its accuracy.
In terms of condition, the aaa quality fake Panerai, which has a small seconds subdial and power reserve indicator, has some minor scratches on the case, bezel and crown cover.
The Swiss movement replica Panerai was seen on Tom Wambsgans’ wrist as he presents a Patek Philippe to Logan Roy for his birthday.
Heritage Auctions sold the watch on January 13 for $4,500. It was among 236 lots that raised a total of $627,825.
Regrettably, no other high quality replica watches spotted in Succession were being sold.
Those include a copy Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711 and Vacheron Constantin pulsometer and a Richard Mille worn by Kendall Roy; a Rolex DateJust on the wrist of Roman Roy; and an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph seen on Tom Tom Wambsgans in a later episode.
